Medical massage consists of many different modalities, which can be used during a session. Your therapist will determine which techniques are best suited to use during your treatment.
Our in-house developed techniques and protocols have shown to be very successful over the last decade. Our approach to find the cause of an illness instead of focusing on the symptom has been the key to our achievements.
We are very invested in client education to ensure our patients know how to improve biomechanics or posture on a daily basis. We also teach exercises to maintain or improve health.
All sessions are available in different lengths, starting at one hour.
Our hourly rate is $300 per 50 minutes session. Save up to 37% with a membership.
Please be on time to receive the most of your treatment. Should we be late, we will extend your time to the minutes we were late. Should we run more than 5 minutes late, all clients for the rest of the day will get a notification informing them of our delay.

Erin Alessandro has several years of experience of medical massage assisted by experience from her time as a nurse. Through her knowledge and understanding of many cultures, she uses muscle knowledge and function as background for her treatments. Medical massage is not rocket science. Alessandro's motto is assess, deduct, and apply; it is as simple as that.
When Alessandro was sixteen years old, she experienced her first medical massage after receiving a doctor's prescription for neck and shoulder pain. Back then, doctors would prescribe six massages for patients that were seen for pain and asked to come back if it didn't help. Doctors then knew that most pain symptoms are directly tied to muscle tension and imbalance.
First off, I can not claim that I treat or heal anybody, as what I do falls under alternative treatments. However the reduction in pain for degenerative diseases of the joints and spine are rather impressive, as you can read in my reviews.
I have specialized in lower-back, and resulting knee pain or sciatica, neck/shoulder problems with pinched nerves or intense headaches as well as frozen shoulders and any kind of tendinitis.
I also do post surgical and regular lymph drainage massage, scar mobility and amputation massages.

We assess the suitability to receive a medical massage and determine if any contraindications exist. This is followed by a thorough assessment massage with as much therapeutic work as given in a first session time-frame. I start each session on the area that I determine to be the most likely cause for certain symptoms without any fluff beforehand. Except for maintenance massages, a medical massage might not be relaxing.
I also want to learn what level of pain will be acceptable for you and your expectations of the session outcome. I also need to decide if your condition falls within my scope of practice or if I have to refer you to another health-care practitioner. I usually say one hour, one area. This means the area that I will be able to cover during one session. It can be as little as one shoulder only, or as broad as the entire back, depending on the present pathologies, the speed in which a muscle releases and your pain level. My goal is to reach the best results with as little pain as possible. Unfortunately the muscles that I usually have to work on are rarely massaged muscles that tend to be more sensitive. At the end of your visit, you will be recommended a treatment plan, as well as suggestions for homecare.
As part of each session the client might receive exercises and/or stretches to maintain and increase the functionality achieved through each session. I also recommend tools, life changes, changes for better biomechanics around your workplace and more in order to help decrease the possibility of the pain to reoccur and to stall the procession of degenerative diseases.
The amount of sessions needed vary due to the individual circumstances and conditions. There are no guarantees implied, nor are any treatments meant to replace medical care. All sessions are alternative treatments meant to compliment traditional medicine. If in doubt consult your primary care physician before booking a medical massage.
Usually to achieve pain relief two to six sessions might be needed per affected area. If the client suffers from more than one problem, every problem area will be addressed individually. A medical massage is very targeted and does not include a whole body massage. In order to affect the deep laying tissues and muscles of the body, time is needed to work through the individual layers of tissue and muscles. For example, the eyelid has only one muscle layer, most of the body has three, but the spine consists of five layers. I work thoroughly through the tissues and start each session where I left off during the previous session.
A Medical Massage differs from a regular massage in many ways. A Medical Massage is not relaxing, might hurt and involves active client participation. Most of the time the clinician has to start on a different muscle group than you would have anticipated due to the location of your pain. This is necessary to be able to work successfully on the area of your symptoms to bring lasting relief. The size of the spot that will be worked on depends on your conditions, your pain level and how fast your muscles release. It is very individual how fast the therapist can proceed. To solve your issues multiple sessions might be necessary and every treatment builds on the other. I commonly say one hour one area. Up to three days following your therapy session you might be sore or show some bruising. Cupping marks can last up to two weeks.
"My experience with Erin was amazing! She went right to the problem in my neck and began working on it. Even though the massage is deep, I never felt uncomfortable. My neck became free of the pain I had been experiencing, and I had much more flexibility and movement. She also worked on my lower back and areas around my hip. Excellent therapeutic massage... probably the best I've ever had! Erin is serious about her work, and serious about helping her clients."
